Hello we are so glad you are here

Becoming a father

is the best thing in my life, it transformed me. As a Black Deaf father, I will continue to play crucial role in my daughter’s emotional, social, physical and brain development.

My story

I hail from the UK, bravely migrated Down Under in 2014 (snake phobia, haven’t seen one yet).

My wife and I are raising a bilingual, bilcultual child who is a Coda (Child of Deaf Adults). Miss O’s life is embedded with Auslan, Deaf culture, as well as Dominican influence which plays a big role in our Montessori journey. - What Dad Did

I was born hearing and I became profoundly Deaf when I was 18 months old. My mother decided that British Sign Language should be our main language at home which was the best present I ever had.

I professionally advocate for people with disability needs. I am a proud committee member of Black Deaf UK and I founded Black BSL in 2020. I am backing to my childhood passion - painting. I achieved Cert IV in TAE, Diploma of Auslan and Level 6 NVQ Certificate in British Sign Language. Yep, I wear many hats!
